funwith.us host guide

Make it a trivia night.

Choose a topic, open a room, and invite people to play on their phones. No accounts or downloads are needed. Play solo when you want a challenge of your own.

How do rooms work?

Choose Host a room, enter a topic, set the difficulty and pace, then select Create room. Share the six-character room code, join link or QR code. Players enter their names and select Join game. The host selects Start when everyone is ready.

Want to start immediately?

The six topic suggestions on the home page each have a ready-to-play starter pack. Choose Balanced difficulty and up to six questions to play immediately. Longer rounds add custom AI questions on the same topic.

What happens with a custom topic?

The trivia engine writes questions in small batches and runs a separate editorial pass. Progress shows whether the engine is warming up, writing or reviewing. A cold engine can take a few minutes to load; you can invite players while it prepares. If generation fails, retry the questions in the same room.

Can I review and change questions?

Yes. Open Review questions in the host controls to see questions, choices, answers and explanations before the game. Once preparation finishes, use Edit question to make your own corrections, or Replace question to ask the engine for another one. AI review can still miss factual mistakes, so check custom rounds for your audience.

What can the host control?

How do I put the game on a TV?

Keep the host phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi. In the Android app, use the Cast button for a Chromecast or Google Cast TV. For Fire TV, open funwith.us/tv in Silk, then choose Fire TV / TV code in your host controls and enter the six-digit code. An optional receiver APK opens this page on Android-based Fire TV devices. Vega models need the TV-browser path.

The TV shows a QR code that opens the website, where anyone can join without an account or installation. The page also suggests the Android beta. Guests do not need to use the host's Wi-Fi to play.

How do answers and scores work?

Choose A, B, C or D on your device. On a keyboard, use A–D or 1–4. Answers lock once submitted. Correct answers earn points with speed and streak bonuses; wrong or missed answers can lose points. The answer and explanation appear after the question closes, followed by the standings.

How does solo play work?

Select Play solo on the home page. Your game starts automatically when its first questions are ready. At the end, you can create a challenge link so a friend plays the same questions and tries to beat your score.

How long does a room last?

Rooms are temporary, held in server memory, and expire within 48 hours. A service restart can end a room sooner. Keep the game open while playing; a room link is not a permanent saved quiz.
